Colombian Young Amber and Wood Necklace (X01)

This unusual choker is part of our collection of amber from around the world. This particular one is made of young Colombian copal. The rough copal beads are rich yellow honey color, nearly transparent slightly lemony honey color, Put together with cherry-colored wood beads, this necklace is beautiful in its wild appeal.
The necklace is about 24" long. In the bright sun, the beads sometimes show a hint of blue, In the UV light, however, the blue is stunningly intense - see some of the photos taken in the UV light.
Copal is young amber, amber that has not yet petrified. It is also more brittle than ancient petrified amber and should be worn with care.
