Madagascar Amber and Coconut Chip Necklace

$79.00

This necklace is made of rough copal (young amber), mostly from Madagascar. But it also includes a few copal beads from other sources. The large focal bead in the center is from Indonesia, and a few light-colored copal beads are from Columbia. The green chip beads are dyed coconut.

The necklace is about 28" long. In the bright sun, the beads sometimes show a hint of blue, In the UV light, however, the blue is stunningly intense - see some of the photos taken in the UV light. The beads range from 1.25" to 0.25".

Copal is young amber, amber that has not yet petrified. It is also more brittle than ancient petrified amber and should be worn with care.
