A Necklace of Old Carnelian and Vintage Copper-Incrusted Ebony Wood Beads CRN_S1
This is a 25" necklace made of antique carnelian beads found in West Africa, accented by vintage copper-incrusted ebony beads and copper bead caps and spacers. Carnelian beads are of a variety of shapes: diamond, coin, and round, the largest bead is about 30mm in diameter, the smallest carnelian rounds are 7-8mm. Some of the beads have sharp clean edges indicating they may be from the Idar-Oberstein factory in Germany, but most of the beads are likely initially from India, imported to West Africa in the extensive multi-century trade. Some of the old beads have age-appropriate imperfections.
The beads are old and may have age-appropriate imperfections like small chips, cracks, or nicks.
